Electrical Inspection (EICR) Report

Why you should get an electrician to carry out an electrical inspection report
Whether you’re a landlord, new homebuyer or a small business owner, it’s important to make sure all your electrical appliances and fittings are safe and fault-free. The best way to do that is to hire a competent, registered electrician to carry out an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). Many people also refer to this as an electrical inspection report.
During an EICR, your electrician will test your fuse box, wiring and all electrical fittings and accessories for faults or deviations from regulatory standards. They’ll check the earthing and bonding, inspect devices designed to protect you from fire and electrical shock and note down damage or wear and tear that may harm you or your home.
They’ll also identify any damaged electrical fittings and exposed live wires. While some faults are easy to spot, others can only be picked up through rigorous testing. Not all electricians can do an EICR – so it’s vital to hire someone who is highly skilled, with years of training and experience.
